Anatomy is science that deals with the structure of human body. The study of anatomy is done mainly on human cadavers by dissection.
The department of human anatomy of Annoor Dental College became functional in the year 2013. As per the DCI norms department of human anatomy is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, research and to develop scholars in medical subjects. The department has a vast treasure of authentic books and CD’s stacked in the department library. The practical hall is used for dissection and demonstration with washing and lighting facility. Cadaver room is attached to the practical hall with two preservation tanks to store dissected specimen and cadavers. Dissections are done as per the syllabus to identify each structure to encounter it properly during dental practices. The department also possess an anatomy museum which exhibit dissected specimens, models, charts, skeleton, disarticulated bone etc. The students have the advantage of a histology lab under the department with all modern facilities there with a seating arrangement for 50 students at a time with individual microscope and slides.
