First Module of the Advanced Aesthetic Training Program was successfully conducted from 21st to 23rd July 2026 at Annoor Dental College & Hospital, Muvattupuzha.
The first day commenced with an inaugural session, setting the tone for an academically enriching module. The academic sessions began with the a lecture by Dr. Josey Mathew, HOD & Professor, Dept. of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, who discussed “How to Select the Right Composites?”. This was followed by an insightful session on “Introduction to Biomimetic Restoration” & “Shade Selection “by Dr Liza George, Vice Principal & Professor, Dept. of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics. The day concluded with a session on “Tooth Preparation for Veneers “by Dr. Josey Mathew followed by followed by an intensive Veneer Tooth Preparation – Hands-on session. Participants were then introduced to a step-by-step protocol for Class IV composite restorations
The second day commenced with a session on “Relevance of Occlusion in Restorative Dentistry” by Dr. Giju George Baby, Principal & Professor, Dept. of Oral Medicine & Radiology. This was followed by a session on “Gingival Retraction“by Dr. Manu Johns, Professor, Dept. of Prosthodontics. Further hands on training on finishing and polishing protocols was conducted. The day concluded with a session on “Bonding Protocol” by Dr. Liza George, emphasizing adhesive strategies and clinical application. In the afternoon, a session on the “Role of Photography in Documentation”by Dr. Binu T. Abraham.
The third day commenced with a focused session on Bonding of Veneers, elaborating on adhesive strategies, luting procedures, and factors influencing long-term clinical success. The three-day program was well appreciated by all 8 participants for its structured academic content and hands-on clinical exposure, making the module a successful and enriching learning experience.
