The fourth offline module of the BIMT Course on Interceptive Orthodontics, conducted from 23rd to 25th July, was a highly enriching academic programme that seamlessly integrated theoretical knowledge with practical clinical exposure. The module featured insightful academic sessions by Dr. Joby Peter and Dr. Binu T. Abraham, focusing on key concepts and contemporary approaches in interceptive orthodontics.
A laboratory visit to Maxdent Ortho and Aligner offered valuable exposure to modern orthodontic laboratory procedures and aligner fabrication workflows. An interactive session by Ms. Ashitha Paul, Speech Therapist, emphasised the importance of speech assessment, orofacial muscle function, and interdisciplinary collaboration in the early management of developing malocclusions, complemented by practical demonstrations.
The programme also included a wide variety of clinical case demonstrations in the Department of Pedodontics, enabling participants to correlate theoretical concepts with clinical practice while enhancing their diagnostic and treatment-planning skills. The module concluded with a valedictory ceremony, during which certificates were awarded to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme
