An Anti-Narcotics & Drug Awareness Program was organized at Annoor Dental College & Hospital with the aim of sensitizing the 3rd year & Final BDS Part I students about the increasing threat of drug abuse and the importance of leading a drug-free life on 29.06.2026. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Josey Mathew, Anti Narcotic Committee Chairman, who set the tone for the event by emphasizing the role of awareness in prevention. The highlight of the program was an engaging and impactful awareness talk by Shri. K P Sidheek, Station House Officer, Traffic Police Station, Muvattupuzha. With real-life examples and case experiences, he gave the students an eye-opening perspective on the ways in which drug addiction begins—often subtly—and how it quickly destroys lives, families, and futures. He elaborated on the types of commonly abused substances, the psychological tactics used by peddlers, and legal consequences under the NDPS Act. To express gratitude and appreciation, Adv. T S Rasheed, Administrative Chairman of Annoor Dental College & Hospital honoured Shri. K P Sidheek with a memento. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr Anjana Thomas, Reader, Dept. of Prosthodontics, who acknowledged the efforts of the organizing team, the speaker, and the participants.
