A Dental Screening camp was held at St. Philomena’s Public School & Junior College, Piravom (Elanji) on February 16, 2024. It was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry, Annoor Dental College and Hospital, Muvattupuzha in association with the Rotary Club, Piravom to screen the students of the institution for dental related concerns. The camp was inaugurated by Piravom Municipal Chairperson Mrs Jincy Raju. The Representatives from Rotary Club, Piravom- Mr. Jacob Thumabyil and Dr. Paulose Pulikkayil also attended the camp. Health Education speech was given by Dr. Arun Rao, Senior Lecturer, Department of Public Health Dentistry. The following events were conducted at the camp:
1. Oral screening was performed on students.
2. One-on-one Demonstration of Tooth Brushing Techniques.
3. Awareness class was taken on maintenance of oral health.
All patients were provided with a referral card for availing further treatment in the dental college. The camp got good response and was appreciated by the organizers. The event was covered by the local media and a newspaper report was published.
