Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) is a specialty of medicine and dentistry that focuses on the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and management of diseases and disorders of the face and jaws. Our faculty are trained to treat trauma, congenital and acquired defects and disorders, facial infections, cancers of the head and neck region. The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery provides diagnosis and treatment of Maxillofacial Pathologies, trauma and aesthetic facial surgery apart from tooth extractions of both simple as well as complex varieties.
We offer training to Under Graduate students from III Year and IV (Final) Year of B.D.S.
Located in the ground floor of our Dental College Hospital Building with a capacity of over 19 equipped Dental Chairs and a fully functional Operating Table, the department is spread over 6640 square meters of floor space with designated training areas for Under graduates. The Department further boasts its own Minor Operating room facility for procedures that may be performed in-house. Apart from the clinical area, the department also has its own Seminar Room and Library for the benefit of students being trained.
For all cases requiring specialized care under General Anesthesia, the Department operates at the Operation Theatres at MCS hospital, Muvattupuzha with an excellent Team of Anesthesiologists, Medical and Para-Medical Staff.
