The Dept. of Public Health Dentistry, Annoor Dental College and Hospital, Muvattupuzha conducted a mega event to raise awareness against the use of tobacco in observance of World No Tobacco Day 2023. This event was held at two of the metro rail stations in Kochi, i.e., Vytilla and Edapally on 31st May 2023. The programs commenced with a thematic flash mob by our students. This was followed by a fashion show on the theme “Ill Effects of Tobacco” wherein students showcased the various consequences of tobacco usage through costumes, and verbal explanations along with an exhibition of placards and posters to spread awareness. There was also an awareness talk by our doctors which was followed by a signature campaign in which members of the public pledged to quit tobacco by putting their signature on the campaign board. 356 commuters signed on the campaign board. Overall there was tremendous response from the crowd and the news of this event was covered by Manorama, Mangalam, 24 news, ACV and Jeevan news channels.
