International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
On June 26, 2025, in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Department Of Public Health Dentistry, Student’s Support and Guidance Cell and Dhruva (college union), Annoor Dental College, in collaboration with the Women’s Dental Council (WDC), IDA, Malanadu, organized a comprehensive awareness session for students of Ilahia Public School, Muvattupuzha.
The keynote awareness talk was delivered by Dr Sr. Joseph Sunitha, Psychiatrist , San Joe Hospital, Perumbavoor, who shared vivid clinical experiences and case insights to underscore the physical, psychological, and social ramifications of substance abuse. Followed by an awareness skit by dental students depicting the emotional toll of drug misuse.The occasion culminated in a poster donation ceremony, where the team handed over an impactful anti-drug abuse poster to Ilahia Public School.Student attendance was enthusiastic, with active participation in both the skit and a post-session Q&A.
This awareness initiative exemplified a successful partnership between healthcare professionals, dental education institutions, and schools to foster drug-free environments.
