Dental Camp – Athanikkal UP School, Pindimana, Kothamangalam
On the occasion of World Oral Health Day, a dental screening and awareness camp was conducted at Athanikkal UP School, Pindimana, Kothamangalam, on March 29, 2025. The camp was organized by Sri Bhavani Foundation, the NSS unit of Mar Athanasius College, Kothamangalam, and the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Annoor Dental College & Hospital, Muvattupuzha with the aim of promoting oral health awareness and encouraging preventive dental care among the community. The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. Manju Kurian, Principal of Mar Athanasius College, who emphasized the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and seeking timely dental care.
The camp included oral screening for attendees, where individuals were assessed for dental issues and provided with guidance on necessary treatments. An oral health awareness session was also conducted, educating participants on proper brushing techniques, the role of diet in oral health, and the significance of regular dental check-ups. As part of the initiative, toothpaste was distributed to encourage good oral hygiene practices. A key highlight of the event was the oral health pledge taken by the participants, reaffirming their commitment to following proper oral hygiene measures and prioritizing their dental well-being.
The World Oral Health Day Camp witnessed active participation from the community, with attendees expressing appreciation for the initiative and showing a renewed commitment to improving their oral health. The event successfully achieved its objective of raising awareness about oral health and reinforcing the importance of preventive care.
